We exist to help you find your people, place and purpose.
Many of us have been told that God is distant, angry, and unapproachable but the truth is He’s waiting to meet you with open arms.
One of the great promises of scripture is that those who seek Him will find Him and in finding Him you will find freedom from your past.
The world is full of hurting people that don’t know God or how to approach Him. Many times all they need is a loving hand to feed them, clothe them, or teach them. Jesus said that if you give a cup of water to the person others see as being beneath them, then it’s like you’re giving it to Him.
Life is better when you do things together and have fun along the way. In a community that welcomes everyone.
No matter where you are on your journey, you belong here. We’re a small church, full of people with big hearts, that are willing to love and help anybody.
Foundational Beliefs
The Bible
We believe the Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths and applicable for our everyday lives. (To find out more read: II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26).
God
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and co-eternal. (To find out more read: I John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11).
Salvation
We believe we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ: His death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus made intercession for us. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts. Resurrection
Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. In addition, both the saved and the lost will be resurrected; they that are saved to the resurrection of life and they that are lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation. Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is active in both the world and in Christians today. We believe He comes to live in those who accept Jesus as their Savior. He guides, instructs, and empowers the Christ follower to all Truth in spiritual growth, service, and daily living. The Church
We believe the church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ Great Commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. (To find out more read: Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23).
Healing
Healing of the sick is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign, which is to follow believers. Healing is part of Jesus’ finished work on the cross and one of the gifts of the Spirit. The Word of God is where you discover Truth concerning health and well being. Provision
As Believers we are the Body of Christ, grafted into the lineage of Abraham and a new and greater Covenant. Through this new covenant we have access to great and precious promises. Discipleship
A disciple is a real student of the Word of God. We are ‘living stones.’ God already sees us as His precious son and daughter and wants to mold and shape us to what He has called us to be. As we seek Him and abide in His Word, we will be equipped with the staying power to overcome the storms of life. The Second Coming
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures. (To find out more read: Matthew 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; I Thessalonians 4:15-17; II Thessalonians 1:7-8; Revelation 1:7).
Our History
Our church was founded in 2001 by Pastor Michael and Lisa Collins. At the time, we met in a local hotel conference room and were known as Word of Grace Family Church. From the very beginning, our vision was to help people thrive in Christ and live extraordinary lives. Over the years, our church has met in many locations and changed names but our vision for the city has remained.
Our Future
As we move forward, we know that digital ministry is the future of the church. Society has chosen a hybrid of in-person and digital engagement in all areas of life.
Harbor City is positioning itself to be a church that meets the needs of the Baltimore Metro area by creating engaging, meaningful content that is about Jesus and the future he has for us.
